Kumbhalgarh is famous for its magnificent monuments, royal chhatris and glorious palaces. The Kumbhalgarh Fort with its intricately carved temples and superb artistry is one of the strongest fortresses in the country. The Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is popular with wildlife aficionados and birdwatchers.

I found Kumbhalgarh far more dramatic & enticing than Chittor, the walled fort is a great excursion from Udaipur. Chittorgarh is bigger but less attractive & very crowded. Plus, as a day trip from Udaipur, you can go to Kumbhalgarh & Ranakpur Jain Temple, which is another lovely architecture.

With this announcement, Rajasthan now has four tiger reserves — Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur district, Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota district and Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar district.

With a nominal fees of Rs 5/- per head you experience the most awesome Fort in Rajasthan,India. Bring good walking shoes as you can feel like a mountain goat at time but the views are worth the effort.
