FAQs

Q1 : How long is the skywalk in Pelling?
The Skywalk is around 2.5 kilometres from the Pelling city.
Q2 : Is Sikkim part of India or China?
Long a sovereign political entity, Sikkim became a protectorate of India in 1950 and an Indian state in 1975. Its small size notwithstanding, Sikkim is of great political and strategic importance for India because of its location along several international boundaries. Area 2,740 square miles (7,096 square km).
Q3 : What is the Tibetan name of Sikkim?
The origin of the name Sikkim arose from combining the two words in the Limbu Su, meaning "new," and Khyim, meaning "palace" or house, referring to the palace built by the state's first ruler, Phuntsok Namgyal. The Tibetan name for Sikkim, Denjong, means the "valley of rice".
Q4 : What is the best time to visit Sikkim?
As suggested by Sikkim Tourism, the best time to visit Sikkim is either between March and May or October and mid-December. If you want to witness the blooming natural beauty in Gangtok best season to visit would be in spring, from March to May. Autumn, on the other hand, brings the clear view of Himalayan Range.
Q5 : Which is better Pelling or Darjeeling?
as mentioned correctly above by Rahul, if you are looking for a family holiday, Darjeeling would be a better option. But if you are interested for a relaxed holiday with short hikes in the nature/countryside, then Pelling is recommended. Both the places have nice monasteries to visit.
