Konkani language, Indo-Aryan language of the Indo-European language family. Konkani is spoken by some 2.5 million people, mainly on the central west coast of India, where it is the official language of Goa state.

Goan food is considered incomplete without fish, Rice and fish-curry is the staple of most Goans. Taste it once and you will know why! Kingfish (Vison or Visvan) is the most common delicacy. Others include Pomfret, Shark, Tuna and Mackerel.

Dodol. Dodol is a Goan dessert made using coconut, jaggery and rice flour. It is a thick brown colored pudding.
