Jaipur is the capital of India’s Rajasthan state. It evokes the royal family that once ruled the region and that, in 1727, founded what is now called the Old City, or “Pink City” for its trademark building color.

Bikaner is a city in the north Indian state of Rajasthan, east of the border with Pakistan. It’s surrounded by the Thar Desert. The city is known for the 16th-century Junagarh Fort, a huge complex of ornate buildings and halls.

Jodhpur is a city in the Thar Desert of the northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. Its 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that’s now a museum, displaying weapons, paintings and elaborate royal palanquins.

Jodhpur is famous for the distinctive colour of its buildings, a reminder of the Brahmins, who used to paint their houses blue to deter insects and keep the dwellings cool during the summer. Founded in 1459, the old city is encircled by an imposing wall and accessed through eight magnificent gates.

Jaipur is the first planned city of India and it's numerous tourist attractions gives it the name Paris of India. It is also known as the pink city due to its dominant colour scheme of the town.

Hot winds and dust storms are a common feature in the desert area during this season. Winter season lasts from December to February and the temperature sometimes reaches 4 °C. The best time to visit Bikaner is between the months of October to March.

While Jaipur is a busy city with a business centre, Udaipur is a peaceful city with less crowd and serene . If you're someone who loves sitting by a lake as the sun goes down, then Udaipur is the place you should go to and if you enjoy the grand architectures and forts, then it is Jaipur for you.

Sam sand dunes are 45 km to the west of Jaisalmer and this is an area of the Thar Desert where you can see 30 to 60 meter high sand dunes. This area is popularly called as Sam sand dunes, and the sand dunes are the biggest sand dunes to be seen anywhere in Jaisalmer.
